Why did I write my book?

When I was little my hair used to be really fine and every night it would tangle, morning would come and my Mom had to comb it out. I was not a sit-still little girl and so she made up these stories about a fairy named Freddy and his girlfriend Feida having parties in my hair every night.

Years past and my daughter, Erika, had the same fine hair and every morning there was a bird's nest in her hair that I had to get out, so I would tell her the same stories.

Finally, the granddaughters came along and before long everyone knew about Freddy the fairy.

My Mom passed away about 6 years ago and I felt that I needed to tell her story so that it would never be forgotten. But truth be told she never had an ending to her stories, so I had to come up with one. LOL

My background is very diverse, I have done everything from geology to astronomy, computer science to cooking, and back again. My main passion has always been cooking and so it came to me that the story had to have a cooking aspect and of course, recipes and a party!

I hope that you enjoy my little book and have as much fun as I did making the recipes and having fairy parties with my grandchildren! I have some ideas for future books, with Eri visiting fairies in other countries and including recipes from wherever she visits.

Let me know what you think.
